The Value of this Awesome, Unique, Flipper Knife, is Only Ever Going to go UP! The Limited Production, award winning, 0888MAX from Zero Tolerance has an Overall Length: 9 1/8. The ZT-0888MAX is a fantastic flipper built with a titanium handle. The blade is Carpenter Maxamet High Speed Tool Steel. The pocket clip's unique design allows it to slide left or right with tip up carry.

Only 250 of these were made, each one shows the serial number on the blade. Approximately half (122) of the 250, are Maxamet steel blades, the other half were M390 steel blades, a much more commonly available blade steel. This is the most desired model (Maxamet High Speed Tool Steel) of the discontinued, 0888 series, production run.

Zero Tolerance originally set out to make 500 of these knives. Early in the production run, they realized that the time, and cost to produce the High Speed Tool Steel Blades, far exceeded the set sale price. After producing 122 knives, they switched M390, that is much easier to machine, but it is not nearly as tough, and has less hardenability (62-HRC Max) as the Maxamet (68-HRC).

They also changed the production run from 500 to 250 knives. The ZT0888MAX's blade is built of tool steel.

Yet this is unlike any previous tool steel. This is Micro-Melt Maxamet, a high alloy content, super hard, high speed tool steel, commonly used for metal cutting tools. Takes a razor edge and holds it. Alloyed tungsten, cobalt, vanadium, chromium, and carbon boost wear resistance, hardenability. SPECIFICATIONS: Blade Length: 3 3/4 Blade Steel: Carpenter Maxamet High Speed Tool Steel. Closed Length: 5 3/8 Weight: 7.4 oz.
